What is Deer To My Heart?
Combining familiar faces with new ones, DTMH will be a radioapple/appleradio flip book with equal parts of both dynamics solely dedicated to Alastor and Lucifer in their doe and buck forms.
Will it be invite only?
Yes, this book will be invite only. However, don't let that discourage you. When we open the interest check in December, we will want to hear about who YOU would like to see in the book - and that includes yourself. You will have the opportunity to put down names of creators that you would like to see on the interest form. Creators who are interested in participating will have a chance to fill out a separate form specific to possibly contributing to the book. You do not need to have created doe/buck pieces before, nor will you be required to submit a portfolio. This is only so that we can see which creators are interested who may not have been previously considered.Since we are aiming to keep the book relatively small, space will be extremely limited and we cannot guarantee anyone a spot- but everyone whose name is submitted will be thoroughly considered. The interest form will be open from December 1st - January 31st to give creators ample time to fill it out.
What kind of creators will you be looking for?
Due to the nature of this book, we will be looking for both writers and page artists who have new and/or unique ideas for both dynamics. We are wanting to have not only rendered page art, but also short comics and clean sketch pages as well. If this is something that interests you, please make sure to fill out the form when it releases on December 1st, and please check out our guidelines page for more information.NOTE: Giving us an idea of what you want to work on is not required on the form and will not inhibit your chances of being invited. We know that a popular headcanon for doe/buck forms is a chase - and we will still be inviting creators who wish to work on those types of topics. If you are invited to create, mods and leads are also more than willing to help brainstorm ideas with you. That being said- as previously stated, space for this book is extremely limited and we cannot guarantee entry to anyone. Any ideas that you share with the leads will be kept strictly confidential and shared with no one outside of our discussion unless, of course, we decide to invite you to participate. We cannot, however, help if another participant submits a similar idea.
What about merch/spot artists?
Since we are planning to keep the book small (and affordable), we will likely not have much merch. But - we do plan on offering some, and page artists who are invited to participate and would like to contribute either spot or merch art on top of their book art will be more than welcome to.
For profit or charity?
Any profit that we make after we supply our hard-working participants with bundles will be given to a charity of choice. We have not chosen our charity yet- however, as our audience is incredibly important to us, we want to see which charity YOU would like to see us give to. There will be a question on the interest check where you can put in your favorite charities for us to consider.
If you have any questions, please feel free ask them either on the interest check form, by message on any social media platform, or replying to one of our posts.Links can be found on the homepage.

As specified in the FAQs, this book will be invite only. However, creators will be allowed to put their names in for participation consideration. If you are thinking about doing so, please review our planned guidelines for the project to make sure that it is the right project for you.
General Guidelines
Due to the nature of Hazbin Hotel and the content we will be working on, everyone on the project must be 18+. If you are caught lying about your age to participate, you will be removed immediately and banned from any future projects led by the leads even when you become of age.
The only dicks on this project should be Alastor's and/or Lucifer's. By joining this project, you are agreeing to respect your fellow creators and keep conversations civil. We are all here to create and have fun.
Radioapple/Appleradio should be the exclusive romantic relationship in your pieces. Mentions of past relationships are allowed if vague and if they fit the narrative of your piece, however there should be no third parties participating in any smut with the exception of Alastor's shadow and/or Lucifer's clones.
Both SFW and NSFW are fine - however, if your piece is not going to be sexually explicit or there is no clear "top" (i.e. a SFW piece where they are both bucks), there will need to be some kind of allusion to who is the lead/in control of the situation as this book will be split by dynamic.
All submissions must be in English. You can, however, use nicknames/pet names that are not.
Use of A.I. is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the project and a ban from any future projects led by leads.
Both canon universe and alternate universes are allowed, however your pieces may not be from an already-existing narrative. Pre-existing general concepts are fine (example: fae, cowboys, etc), but extensions of yours or someone else's specific stories are not.
A complete genderswap of either Alastor and/or Lucifer will not be permitted in this book. This does not include transgender depictions of either character, nor Lucifer's magically changing angelic genitals. As long as they are both considered men, their bits are none of our business.
Ageplay, incest, underage depictions, and noncon are strictly prohibited - that being said, consent does not need to be explicit as long as it is consensual. Consensual nonconsent is allowed as long as it is tagged properly. Most other kinks or Dead Dove topics will not be explicitly banned, but we cannot guarantee all pitches will be approved- leads will review on a case by case basis and discuss if we think the topic is appropriate for the book and if we are comfortable having it.
Breeding, knotting, nesting, and pregnancy are all okay- but giving birth and fanchildren will not be permitted.
The majority of communication for this project will take place in the Dear To My Heart Discord server and, in order to participate, you must be willing to join it. You are not required to participate in any of the public channels, however you should keep notifications to your private channel and the announcement channel on so that you can keep yourself up-to-date on any important project correspondence. You will be required to be available and easy to get ahold of during all check-ins unless advance notice is given.
You will be required to submit work during each check-in. If you are unable to make a check-in, make sure to contact your mod as soon as possible. Extensions can and will be given under extenuating circumstances.
While we do not have the specs or formatting requirements yet, they will be finalized before the start of the creation period.
All participants will be required to submit 3-4 pitch ideas ranked by most wanted to least- but all pitches should be something you would be happy to work on. Leads will try their best to honor first choice pitches, but since some ideas will be similar (chases, etc), it may not be possible for everyone. You must also be open to answering questions or explaining your pitch more in detail if asked.
*Several of these guidelines were inspired by the guidelines for the RadioApple A-Z and Watch the Throne projects.
Writing Guidelines
All writers must provide one piece of writing between 3,000 and 4,000 words.
All writers must provide a link to their WIP document from whichever site they use. While mods will not ever give unsolicited criticism, we do want to be able to check in and make sure participants are still on task.
All written works must be beta read for accuracy. You may use your own beta, but writing mods will still review your piece for spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc.
Spot art will be available to the artists invited to the project, however we cannot guarantee that all writers will receive spot art for their fics.
Art Guidelines
Sketch page artists: Must provide 2-4 artistic sketches on one page. Sketches must be cleaned up and fill the page nicely. You may draw the boys individually but at least one of the drawings must be of them together. You may add splashes of color if you wish, but color is not required. Small, silly doodles are acceptable in any negative space left but are not required.
Illustration artists: Must provide one fully colored and rendered piece with a background (simple is okay!)
Comic artists: Must provide a comic that is 3-5 pages long. The story should be short but well thought-out, coherent, and the text readable. Any dialogue must be beta read for spelling and grammar.
Spot/fic artists: Spot art for fics is available to contributors and welcome to those who wish to do a second piece. This is not mandatory and you may choose from either a sketch page or a rendered illustration. You must be open to working with your designated author to create a piece that reflects the story well. This is only to be taken on if you believe you are able to finish two pieces within the timeframe of the project and is secondary to your main piece for the book.
Merch artists: Merch items will be limited but available to contributors who would like to do a merch piece along with their book piece. This is not mandatory and is only to be taken on if you believe you are able to finish these pieces within the timeframe of the project and is secondary to your main piece for the book.
If you have any questions, please feel free ask them either on the interest check form, by message on any social media platform, or replying to one of our posts.Links can be found on the homepage.
